Training: Anouke read English at Cambridge and trained as an actress at Webber Douglas Academy. She has played a variety of roles in theatre and television.
Anouke is co-artistic director of a site-specific theatre company called The Building Site, for which she recently directed and co-produced Hotel Confessions at the Bermondsey Square Hotel, in association with Southwark Playhouse. This was a double-bill of plays: Freya & Mr. Mushroom by Nessah Aisha Muthy and The Night in the Hotel, which Anouke wrote after the short story Die Nacht im Hotel, by award-winning German writer Siegfried Lenz.
Other directing credits include: Torn (Arcola), Broken Voices (Tristan Bates Theatre).
Assistant director credits include: Ponies and Scotch & Water (Hen & Chickens Theatre).
She has also developed and directed several new plays for shorter runs and rehearsed readings at the King’s Head, White Bear, The Roundhouse (Accidental Festival 2009) and BAC (Accidental Festival 2010).
She recently worked as a dramaturg on ScriptLAB for Young Friends of the Almeida and as an Actor-Facilitator for Almeida Projects.
